Pomodoro Timer Overlay for Study Streams
A free Pomodoro timer you can drop straight into OBS Studio, Streamlabs or any streaming tool that supports a browser source. The overlay page has a transparent background, picks up your own focus and break lengths from the URL and can cycle between sessions on its own, so your study-with-me stream keeps running while you work. No account, no API key, no watermark beyond a tiny text credit.
Build your overlay link
Add it to OBS in 30 seconds
- In OBS, click + under Sources and choose Browser.
- Paste your overlay link as the URL.
- Set width 340 and height 500 for the full card, or 260 × 70 for the compact pill.
- Click Interact on the source and press play — or let auto-cycle run the whole stream.
Streamlabs, Twitch Studio, XSplit and vMix work the same way: add a web or browser source and paste the link. The background is transparent, so the timer floats over your camera or lo-fi scene.
Popular study-stream rhythms
?focus=25&break=5&auto=1— classic Pomodoro, short rounds for chatty streams?focus=50&break=10&auto=1— the most common study-with-me rhythm?focus=90&break=20&auto=1— deep work blocks for long silent sessions
The same parameters work on every timer page, so you can also share a link like focus.mawu.ch/?focus=45&break=15 with your viewers or Discord study group.
Questions
Is the overlay free for commercial or monetised streams?
Yes. It is free with no ads, no sign-up and no usage limits.
Will the timer drift during a long stream?
No. It counts from the system clock, so it stays accurate for hours, even if OBS throttles the source.
Can viewers see the same timer?
Send them the matching link (without /overlay/) so they can
run the same rhythm on their own screen. Want it on a website instead? See
embed the timer.
