Classroom Timer
A free countdown timer made for the front of the room. Switch on projector mode and the timer fills the whole screen with digits the back row can read; a soft chime and a pulse mark the end, so nobody has to watch the clock. No ads pop up mid-lesson, no account, nothing to install on the school computer.
Open it on the projector
Bookmark the link or put it in your slides — it always opens with your settings. Press F11 (or your browser's full-screen option) for an edge-to-edge timer.
Ideas for lessons
- Pomodoro for students: 10 minutes of focused work, 2 minutes to stretch — short enough for younger classes, and it teaches a study habit they can use at home.
- Group work and stations: one visible countdown per rotation, with the break as change-over time.
- Exams and quizzes: set 45 or 60 minutes and let the room see how much time is left.
- Brain breaks: use the break timer or the mental health break timer between subjects.
- Homework and remote lessons: share a study together link and every student's timer runs in sync with yours.
Questions
Is it really free for schools?
Yes — free for everyone, with no ads, no sign-up and no tracking cookies. Students don't need an account either.
Can I put the timer on my class website or LMS?
Yes. Copy the iframe snippet from the embed page into Google Sites, Notion, Canvas, Moodle or any page that accepts HTML.
Does it work on an interactive whiteboard or Chromebook?
It runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari — on whiteboards, Chromebooks, iPads and laptops. Make sure the sound is on if you want the chime.
